Brooke Smith (Dr. Hahn) adopts baby girl  
Grey's Anatomy actress Brooke Smith has adopted a baby girl from Ethiopia, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

It is the second daughter for Smith, 40, who has a 5-year-old daughter, Fanny, with her cinematographer husband Stephen Lubensky.

Smith, who is best known for her role in Silence of the Lambs, told PEOPLE in October that she and her husband were considering adopting.

"You know, why not?" Smith sad, adding that she and Lubensky have traveled to Africa several times, and filmed a documentary on conservationists in Zimbabwe together. "We still might end up there some time," she said.

The news was first reported by TV Guide.

Ellen doing some lifting!  


"Whew. This looks exhausting!

Ellen Pompeo sweated it up while handling the lawn chairs and area rug she bought in L.A. today (at Sustainable Living and Plantation). She's a tiny little lass, so it's nice to see she can handle her own furniture. But still, we gotta ask: Chris Ivery, where's your helping hand?

Then, a pal of Ellen's presented her with a bouquet of flowers. Were they a congratulatory gesture for a job well done with the furniture and rug, or are they related to the upcoming season finale of Grey's Anatomy?

Either way, Ellen looked rather thrilled. "

Character Meme  
Snagged from [info]ellie_kat89, and this made me realize that I watch entirely too much TV, and read too little fiction.  A quick look at my favorite bookshelf has many, many non-fiction books, which might make a great meme now that I'm thinking of it.  Ah well, maybe on the weekend or next week.
